A key goal in creating this site was to bring some transparency around the ownership of veterinary practices in the US. Many of the consolidators will retain a practice’s branding and name post-acquisition and goal is often to maintain the appearance of a locally-run practice. Without directly asking the practice it is sometimes impossible to determine the ownership of a given practice.

With that in mind, we have spent a large amount of time compiling a list of over 6000 practices nationwide that have private equity or corporate owners. This list is downloadable as an Excel file (above) and you can browse the map above. The goal is to enable you to know the owneship of the practices in your local area so you can make an informed choice. Please be aware that while every effort was made to ensure this list is accurate, there may be errors, omissions and ownership may change over time.
